Spring Fling
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening" – Coco Chanel
Dressing for the warmer weather
Spring has started to settle in and the Revoir team is loving it. We’ve put away our heavy winter coats and are already starting to make the most of the longer, warmer nights.
Sure, the heat of December makes for easy dressing, but we think spring makes for the most fun. Outfits that give you hints of summer but still hold the texture of winter are a sartorial dream.
So, want to start your fashion fling with the sweetest season? Revoir has some tips:
Don’t say goodbye to some of your winter pieces just yet
Spring’s charm is that it’s warm, but the weather can still be unpredictable. Picked out a gorgeous day dress? Get more out of your winter pieces and keep things on the precipice of cool by pairing it with a leather jacket or heavy denim piece. You’ll keep warm and your outfit will be the perfect balance between the sweetness and texture of spring.
These pieces put together are a perfect example:
Layer – Lightly
Without the bite of winter’s chill, it’s no longer about practicality when layering – instead it’s all about mixing and matching with different pieces. Play up different cuts and colours – there’s no harm in layering white on white or adding shape with a fitted jacket. Considering some days are very warm while others have remnants of winter, we’re all about layering breathable fabrics with each other while having a good jacket over for warmth if you need it.
Accessorise
There’s just something fabulous about a shawl – in colours of all kinds or a scarf, in cashmere or silk, we can’t get enough of them. Which means when it comes to a spring fling there’s no better outfit than one that ties together with an accessory like a scarf or shawl. Use a piece with complementary colours to pull your outfit together or a bright scarf to feature a pop of colour. Accessories like shawls aren’t just fashion forward, they’re a chic way to add texture to an outfit, keep cool but covered and show off your incredible style.
