SOS – Start of Summer

“I would like to say to people, open your eyes and find beauty where you normally don’t expect it” – Jean Paul Gaultier

Summer is finally here, and that means that hot-weather clothing also makes a long-awaited return – which can strike fear into the hearts of many. Summer fashion doesn’t have to mean barely there outfits or enough naked flesh to warrant an indecency charge, however. With a bit of thought, your summer style can be both fashionable and weather appropriate!

REVOIR BLOG - Start of Summer

One of REVOIR’s favourite things about summer is the day to night weather. No need to throw on a big jacket, you can literally go from day to night in the same summer frock. This ALC chiffon maxi dress or Dion Lee halter are perfect examples of daytime summer dressing that can last you all night, too.

If you’re wearing something on the skimpier side, throw a lightweight wrap or robe over the top to provide a stylish hit of modesty. Another great way to shot a bit of skin without going over the top is pairing a crop with a high waisted skirt, shorts, or jeans.

Sandals and flats are also perfect summer accessories. Flats are the perfect solution if you haven’t had time to manicure your toes, as they still add the casual elegance to outfits that summer demands. Flats are also perfect for pairing with short shorts and miniskirts, as heels can take these looks from casual to waaaay too short if you’re not careful! If your tootsies are pampered and ready to be seen, now is the time to give those lovely strappy sandals – such as these perfect Jimmy Choos - the outing they deserve!

And of course, summer is when you can really bust out the colour – if you’re still one to avoid brights, opt for a pop of colour via your bag or accessories instead.
