“Your clothes should be tight enough to show you’re a woman, but loose enough to show you’re a lady” – Marilyn Monroe
Christmas Day is usually a flurry of activity for many of us. We’re either hosting family events or rushing between gatherings, all whilst having a fabulous time, looking amazing and not feeling flustered at all. And while REVOIR unfortunately can’t guarantee two of those three things, we can absolutely ensure that you look amazing.
So what should you wear on Christmas Day? As mentioned earlier this week, it’s totally acceptable to throw a bit of glamour into your outfit, but this is one day that you also need to make sure that what you’re wearing is practical. Unless you intend to spend your entire day at a long, glamorous lunch – which sadly most of us don’t get to do – chances are you could end up playing with children on the floor, helping in the kitchen, and potentially collapsing in a heap. And it’s totally possible to look great whilst doing all of this.
A midi or long dress is a great option as you won’t be pulling at your hem if you’re going from sitting to standing regularly, or hanging out with the kids in the family. Choose a dress that can go from dressy to casual with a change of shoes or accessories, and throw some festive colour in this mix. This gorgeous orange twist dress from Carla Zampatti is a perfect option. For similar reasons, a jumpsuit is another great option. Stylish yet practical, a great jumpsuit will suit whatever you end up doing on the day – hopefully opening lots of presents.
If you’re spending all day with family in and out of homes, a pair of jeans and a great top can be the perfect ensemble. Christmas is a time to connect with family, and if you’re hanging out at home, you don’t always have to dress up. A lovely bright, breezy top like this deep orange silk top from KITX will have you looking and feeling effortlessly stylish all day.
And if you’re really stuck for something to wear, suggest your other half give you your Christmas present early and point them firmly in the direction of REVOIR!
